Bought this after vw wanted mega money to replace. Excellent service arrived by first Post next day. My key had snapped at the chrome holder so I only had to transfer the innards off the old key to the blank knock the blank out with a small punch. Please note you will have to file down your original key to fit, only slightly though. It took me about 10 minutes to do works a treat. I done this then my second key snapped at exactly the same point. I've ordered, another. Honestly it's FLIPPING EASY to do.

A bit trickier than expected, but saved £350+

First off, for a product that has saved me £350+ (quoted replacement by VW) I really cannot give it anything but 5*, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone with a damaged case.
However, it is only fair to say that I found the replacement process a bit trickier than expected...

The video warns that force is required to prise open the old shell, and that is certainly the case.
(Of course, this is not an issue with the supplied product, but is worth being aware of.)
I was concerned that I might damage the circuit board in the process, and was careful not to insert the screwdriver I used too far into the shell.
But I got there in the end, and fortunately the board was fine.

The other difficulty I had was that I couldn't simply switch the key from the old shell to the new, because the old key had broken loose from its holder.
To begin with I thought my only option was to get the supplied blank key cut (adding greatly to the overall cost).
But then I realised I could tap out the retaining pin (using a small nail) and switch the blank for the old key.
However, the pivot end of old key was a slightly different size and shape to that of the blank key, and it would not fit into the holder.
But with a bit of filing, it was possible to get it to fit, and then fix in place with the retaining pin.

Aside from these two difficulties (see also TC's review of 31/01/2022) everything was fine - and these certainly won't affect everyone.

£10.99 rather than £350+ - what's not to like!

Key looks like new again. Followed the instructions and only took me 10 minutes. Would definitley use again and recommend to friends. Excellent.

Brilliant

Recently the key for my VW decided to fall apart (like a few others on here I see) Initial enquiries had me thinking I was going to have to spend ££££s for a new key, then I found this website. £9.99 including postage got me a new case which is exactly what was needed. Swapping the bits over was fairly easy, the longest job was filing a little off the key to make sure it was a perfect fit. Half an hour an it was all done, saved about £240 so I'm a Happy Bunny.
