General Advice and Tips for Replacing your Key Case
Here are some general tips to follow whilst replacing your key case:
Always work on a clean flat area preferably with a white background and good lighting. Because car keys contain small parts it is important to be able to see any parts that may fall out.
Double check for any screws. If you are applying pressure and the key is not coming apart check for screws. Sometimes they can be hidden behind the manufacturers badge.
Be careful with any tools you are using. If you are using a tool to pry the case apart be careful not to injury yourself.
DON’T throw your old case away until you have tested that the new key works. If you try the new key and the car won’t start it means you have not transferred over the transponder immobiliser chip. Sometimes this chip is not on the main circuit board. If this is the case hold the old key close to the vehicle as well as the new one. It should now start. You will now have to carefully look for the transponder chip.

Just wanted to say thank you after receiving my new key case, I watched a few people on the Internet replace theirs and when mine arrived I managed to swap the key and electronic over in about 15 mins. Many thanks.

I had watched various Yu tube videos about replacing my Land Rover D3 shell involving cutting, knocking pins out to replace the blade , cutting the old case to open it etc . Non of this was required using these cases I simply popped open the new case with finger and thum, popped open the old case with circlip pliers in the gap behind the blade hinge with it half open , transferred the PCB and also used my blade and the key ring metal work along with the new shinny button and spring wound the blade on the spring once to pre tension it and snapped the new case together job done all good again. Thank you. I’ve bought another two since. Delivery time good to.
