After checking on Google how to replace the key shell it is quite simple. The awkward bit is getting the spring right on the key.

Quality of key blade questionable, the brass was so hard the keycutting machine nearly broke its mill bit.
There was no mention in the instructions that you have to transfer the small security capsule that is potted into the original key, as well as the circuit board, to the new shell. Without the capsule the buttons all work and the key will turn the engine with the dash lights on, but the engine will not fire.

Otherwise a very good quality replacement, much cheaper than the rip-off fully programmed replacement keys. I can now reliably open and close all my motorhome doors.
The case was ideal but my 20 year old key blade was too wide for the opening and I had to manually file the slot wider. Dissapointing, since everything else seemed a prefect fit.
